Happy, happy birthday to Rebecca Tripp Photo, LLC! Two years ago today, I filed paperwork and nervously launched my website to officially start my sweet little business. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I’d be a small business owner. The last two years have been the most amazing two years full of growth, but this past year in particular has been the most transformational year of my life.
For my first year, I ran my business part time while still working for a non-profit organization full time. At the beginning of 2020, it was on my heart to leave my current job and take my business full time, I just had no idea how and I was absolutely terrified to take the leap. Thankfully, divine intervention (hello, God!) came in. I can honestly say getting laid off was the best thing that has ever happened to me. I wasn’t quite sure how at the time, but one way or another, I was going full time with my photography business. Read about my full time announcement here!
Shortly after I decided I was taking my business full time, I posted in some local photography groups online and asked how to ramp up my business enough in 3-5 months to make at least a little income (and not go completely broke in the meantime!). The responses varied and offered a lot of great advice, but the one that stuck out the most to me said, “Be prepared to hustle, hustle, hustle.” And oh boy, was she right.
Running my sweet little business brings me so much joy, and I’ve reflected a lot over the past few months as to why I love it so much. In my previous role (ask any of my former colleagues), my favorite part of my job was the relationships I developed with our donors. I’ve found running my photography business is the perfect blend of my creative side and my love of building relationships with people. Delivering beautiful images is great, but ultimately, loving and serving others is what brings me the most joy and what I hope my clients remember most!
THANK YOU to my amazing clients for trusting me with your most precious memories. Rebecca Tripp Photo, LLC would not be here today without you. 🙂 I cannot wait to see what next year has in store (and to celebrate many of you!). I have some BIG goals for 2021 – Cheers to year three!
Love,
Rebecca
